Getting Inverted: The Handstand Pushup

Truth be told, much of that time in the gym was spent flapping my gums—taking the requisite five or six minutes to bullshit with friends. So my routines were always part workout, part social gathering. After I’d finish lifting and jabbering, I’d go stuff my face to “bulk up” and, since I had a surplus of time, I’d even take a nap if I felt like it.

But life changed, as it is wont to do. Responsibilities increased and gym time decreased. I had to learn to cut my marathon workouts to under an hour. And it became not a matter of when I’d go to the gym, but if I’d go to the gym. So often I’d find ways to exercise at home utilizing bodyweight exercises or I’d simply go for a run.
